a
composition for unaccompanied violin Harris
Shilakowsky, composer Sharon
Gewirtz a
serious professional violinist, teacher
of the violin friend
and supporter of fine music. This
piece was written to remember her and her
music. It
was premiered by the composer at a memorial concert
on June
26 in First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in
Arlington. The
music contains gentle references to other composers and
Jewish influences. I
intended it to be solemn yet not overly sad, but rather to
reflect on the beauty and joy that music
brings to our lives and that Sharon brought to so many, as
shown by the outpouring of expression from so
many friends and associates. You
may purchase the sheet music here. The cost is $6.99.
Purchase and download here. A
recording will be placed here in the near future which you
can also download. Harris
Shilakowsky
