Seeking a friendly lover, I find you across an artificial dividing line between your culture and mine…between Muslim and Jew…between Palestinian and Israeli.
Sadly we are used by politicians and power brokers who seek to hold their power that they purchase by trading in emotional triggers. They reinforce the hatred by encouraging us to commit violence against each other, which, in our pain, angst of the loss of our loved ones becomes the spear that returns the horror of death to our lovers who now are our enemies instead. Instead of sowing and cultivating love, and the health of our families… our species, we kill. Instead of being the messianic place of justice, peace, truth, love and eternal peace, our Middle East is instead the perfect example of humanities worst possible qualities. If we don’t tell our stories, no one will understand, but the listener must set aside any hateful response and use humanity’s greatest God-given gift, our intellect…to reach a greater, richer, more beautiful place. Peace is only possible when all humans lay down their weapons forever.
